For Christmas I am going to travel to U.S. by my car. My trip will start from Toronto, Canada and my destination is Maryland, U.S. I appreciate if anyone could provide me some advice or links regarding the regulations on driving licence and insurance while in U.S.

My bf loves to travel a lot! He is a teacher and took this year off from work to get another certificate, well he is just about to finish his course and after that we’re both going to my country to spend christmas with my family….He loves traveling and now that he has 6 months off from school and work he wants to travel…so i dont know his plans yet but he has made me think that after been in my country he won be coming back to his (USA) so I got this email (his not in town right now):
"" i received an insurance notice regarding the cadddy. are you def. not coming back to usa??? you sold me, i’m not, so i was going to skip the registration and insurance on both cars. should i cancel our cell phones???""
I mentioned him a couple of days ago that it could be cool if after being in my country we could be able to do some traveling….and now I get this email…he has never invited me to go with him
Thnx for reading

I mentioned him a couple of days ago that it could be cool if after being in my country we could be able to do some traveling and now I get this he has never invited me to go with him and i think it is because he knows that i have a job here and he wasnt sure about what he wanted to do, but now that he is been away during this weekend (where I mentioned that we could do this traveling I ge this) so I don’t if he is assuming that I’m going because I brought it up or what??
So what would you think if you get this email?

I’m a US citizen, currently living in Japan on a religious activities visa. I’m going home to the US for Christmas for two weeks. In America I have no health insurance. Right now I’m covered under the national health insurance here in Japan, but that doesn’t cover me while I’m traveling abroad. What is the best thing to do about travel insurance?
All the travelers insurance sites I’ve visited ask for my country of residence, which is technically still the US. So, I can’t buy travelers insurance from the US to the US… can I? Or should I say that my country of residence is Japan?
Also, where is the best place to purchase travelers insurance from?
I do have some friends who probably know, and I’m going to ask them. But I thought I’d see what people have to say on here as well.
Thanks for your help!
I am looking at flights from LHR=BNE for Christmas 09. I’ve found a very cheap one with Royal Brunei (680 pounds return) which I’m thinking of booking, but I’m not sure – my annual travel insurance doesn’t cover a bankrupt airline. Also, given GFC I’m wondering if flight prices are likely to go down in the next 6 months?
I am planning on traveling to Honduras the day after Christmas as I do International Insurance business in that country often, but some friends have told me that they have heard in the news that is not advisable at this time.
Has anyone else hear about this? Really appreciate it. Thanks
I have fire and theft insurance for my car, but I want to do a road trip around christmas, and I wanted to know if its normal to get comprehensive insurance just for a month? I'm in Australia by the way, but I guess insurance companies are the same everywhere. Thanks.
My girlfriend and I booked a trip to San juan Puerto Rico over Christmas. We have broken off our relationship and now do not want to go. I did not select the cancellation insurance on Expedia when i booked the trip however. What are my options? Is there any chance of getting a refund with 3 months to go?
I’m a Canadian citizen, and I’m travelling with my family from Toronto to Monterrey, Mexico in December. I’ll be driving from Georgetown/Austin to Monterrey. What is the border like? I heard the Columbia Bridge is a better option then the other border crossing, is that true? Also, is the drive to Monterrey dangerous? I’ll be staying in Monterrey for about 2 days, around the downtown area, is walking around safe? Also, do I need Mexican car insurance? How much would a typical Mexican meal cost? What’s a good hotel in the downtown area for 0-200 USD per night in a double room after Christmas? Thanks. 10 points for best answer
I just took a pregnancy test a few hours ago. My husband and I learned that we had to leave for georgia earlier. We live in west virginia. And a friend of mine advised me to see a doctor first. But I just resently moved to this state. And I don't have any insurance. And well christmas holidays have started. So what should I do? My husband thinks I will be alright. But I still think I should see a doctor. Before leaving. What should I do?
No… I'm not flying. My husband is driving. And it's about 7 hour drive.
