One of my friends recently found herself stranded due to a bankrupt cruise company, and she told me the only thing about the experience that wasn’t infuriating was the fact that she had taken out a honeymoon travel insurance policy beforehand and was getting her money back. Her experience has me coming up with all kinds of honeymoon worst-case scenarios, and now I definitely want a policy of my own! What should my fiance and I be looking for in a travel insurance policy?

My Fiance and I just took a trip to Florida for a few months for his job. I am 24 weeks pregnant and I need to see an OB (I see one regularly in CA) but I have to fly all the way back to CA once a month and it’s expensive…is there anyway I can see an OB here in FL that will take my insurance? Like a travel based Medi-cal or something? I don’t want to re-apply for insurance every time we move out of state…it takes way too long and some docs won’t see me because I’m too far along (done it before)…Any information will help = ] Thanks in advance!
Actually since I am NOT married and pregnant and a low income TAX PAYER yes I qualify for medi-cal. My case worker knows that I am supported by my fiance and I still am eligible for medi-cal. I pay taxes, so does my fiance, therefore I am not living off tax payers…use your head. If it weren’t for my fiance traveling state to state for his GOVERNMENT job most of all your new building projects across the US wouldn’t happen. Have some respect. I’m just asking a simple question here people. I don’t live in two states and we are not paying for my plane tickets, my parents are helping us out. We pay taxes in BOTH states and I’m not looking to get benefits for free just because I can, it’s because I need them since I can’t stay a full time student hence why I lost my other medical insurance and had to apply for Medi-cal. Sheesh!
Basically me and my girlfriend would like to get married so that Americorps would allow me to spend time with her during the breaks instead of having to go to relatives/family. Basically they pay off the travel fairs for it so I heard. Otherwise I’d have to travel for an entire day from So.California to Oregon if I go to my parents home for break. Which in gas now is a good 200-400 bucks. Plus by the time break comes around parents may sell my car.
I’m joining Americorps to help people but also to save money for college and starting a life with my girlfriend. We’re both 19 and know we want to stay together for life (been going out 4 years).
Anyways troubles are for example, her insurance would be canceled if she did get married, Unfortunantly the Insurance from Americorps doesnt extend to family,(cheap bastards) and the dont allow use to spend breaks with Fiance’s.
It’s a pain in the butt cause she is forgetful about trying to fix stuff and I want to spend more time w/ her.
Help?
for the past 2 years we have been in a long distance relationship due to college
no she isnt in Americorps herself. She is living with her mom and working at a general store, saving for college plus paying off previous loans. She is staying in that situation to get her gen ed out of the way and to try and connect with her anti social, slightly retard, brother, who doesnt like her.
No sorry let me re-say my question
I am trying to figure out
- if there is an insurance that will take care of her while married for the same price as if she wasnt
- if there are any other financial issues for long distance relationships
etc. etc.

-Helping people
-Job and education Benefits
-Scholorship

How do I let everyone know that we would appreciate $$$ for a tubal reversal instead of gifts?? I have a full household and don’t really need anything, I NEED to have a garage sale!!
I am 38 and my fiance’ is 21. I have three children (19, 18 & 12) and he has none.
Never thought I would be doing this, but time is of the essence and it cost ,200 + travel to and from Kentucky from Texas. We realize that with my age we must do this SOON and of course insurance doesn’t cover it.
Just wanted to know how I should request this instead of a traditional gift, Also if anyone knows of a website or something that I can put up that they can go to and make a donation to us online where we can personalize and make a little more like they are donating to our family and not giving an impersonal gift.
Thanks
My fiance and I are traveling to a country where it is recommend that we get some vaccinations. I’ve called around and it looks like the cheapest clinic can do the minimum required shots for about 0 each and of course health insurance doesn’t cover these “luxury” vaccinations although they do cover if I get sick from them.
Anyway does anyone know of a place in San Diego to get them cheaper?
Scenario: He was pulled out of a fast food place towards a light, he saw a gap between 2 oncoming vehicles in the crazy traffic. As the first car was passing him, he began to pull out behind him. The car, which was going a decent speed towards the light, then decided to cruise into (without slowing down) the same parking lot my fiance was exiting, with no turn signal. My fiance ended up hitting his rear tire. He got out to make sure everyone was alright, they were. The man sustained a small dent and a little paint damage which he said he wasn’t worried about, but his tire was bent in a little. He said that was all he cared about. He was mechanically inclined and would do the work at home if it was something simple. It turned out to be less than 0 in parts and my fiance was going to pay for them as they had agreed.
I had my fiance call the police so this guy couldn’t exaggerate everything and to show that he wasn’t at fault. The cop said my fiance was at fault since he hit this man.
Well, they were supposed to meet so my fiance could pay him, he just wants it over, and the guy calls today and says he is going to file a claim through the insurance.
Here is the issue: We are house sitting for my mother for a year and he was driving her vehicle, with her insurance. He wasn’t covered. This guy would have to sue her insurance to settle and once my mother gets wind of this, well, let’s just say we are going to be moving somewhere else, and we have 3 kids and basically no money. A few thousand, but not enough to uproot right now. We would have to get another vehicle and 3 months rent ect together.
Point is, this accident was NOT his fault, but since it’s hard to prove the other guy was driving aimlessly with no signaling, it’s hard to prove. What can we do?
We had no choice but to call the police. My fiance was not at fault and, yes, they had an "agreement" just as they had yesterday evening and now the guy is going to go through the insurance anyways. He would have done the same except there wouldn’t be any documentation at the time. The thing that screwed it all up was that my fiance first explained it to me as that the other guy pulled out in front of him. He didn’t fully elaborate. Plus, he didn’t know at the time the other guy was a marine… so the cop would favor him, obviously.
He didn’t hit the guy from just pulling out on him, he was turned left across a two lane road. He pulled into the first lane, about to pull into the other behind the guy and he just cruised into the parking lot with no signal and no braking. More or less, he side swiped the front end of the van. He even turned too early for the entrance.
He isn’t covered on my mother’s insurance. Only she is. It will raise her rates and force her to add him to her policy. Even though he won’t be driving the van. He is/was about to get his transmission repaired so he could drive his vehicle.
Oh, and the light was red. He was clear across the first lane to get over. The other guy was traveling towards the light with no way to see that he was turning, at a decent speed, hadn’t even brake coming towards the light yet. My fiance went to pull out BEHIND him and he swerved into the parking lot with no signal or braking. How was he supposed to know he would turn?
Ok, so last year I graduated with a business and economics degree and havent had any luck with getting a job. I interviewed with three people in NYC but they said I seemed too young for what they were looking for or not experienced enough for the position. I am 24 and live in NJ. Im need to find a job soon so i can move in with my fiance. I am working at a retail store for now but its depressing and killing my self confidence. Life insurance jobs are not in my interest so dont suggest that.
Also, after I graduated I opened up an ice cream store, small business and it was successful. But i ended up selling it this summer b/c recession killed my traffic since the town i was in was a resort/rental town in which the recession hurt ppl from taking vacations all summer so i got outa the water with my head above the water.
I am smart, love researching, good with numbers, great with computers and electronics. I took a real estate class and finished best in the class but never got my license due to lack of funds at the time.
So if anyone out there is reading or can help out with some advice, links, headhunters, wutever that can land me a job or a path to follow i am listening. I need help .
My fiance and I travel alot and I need to get a healthcare plan that will cover us in whichever state we may be. Are there plans like this out there? Please give me any information you may have on this subject. Thank you. P.S. I have checked out the mybenefits.com and it is not an insurance program so please do not make this suggestion to me. Thanks.
I asked this question yesterday & did get a few good responses but, a few responses that didn’t quite fit due to apparently more information being needed. A few mentioned my sisters as "first time drivers". They are not. They have been driving since they were 13 (farm equipement @ my Uncle’s & my dad’s friend owns a track on which they have both driven a Hemi Roadrunner, a 1970 Chevy Nova, etc on countless occasions so they are not unfamiliar with muscle at all. They also have had their licenses since the day they turned 16. Another person stated that they thought my sisters were selfish to ask for these. I proposed this whole thing, not them, on the basis that they came up with the money & recieved straight A’s through Junior High & high school & they have. Also, they are far from selfish. They do all the yard work on 23 Acres because for the past 5 years, my father has not been able to because of a heart attack. They come clean my house & take care of my dogs if I get stuck @ work or my fiance & I go on vacation without even needing to be asked. They also volunteer @ local soup kitchens. You couldn’t ask for better siblings & they are the definition of unselfish. As far as insurance is concerned, that is covered for them for the first year by myself & my father & they will be listed as secondary drivers under me so the cost is not all that bad. Another person noted that whenever he was writing up auto loans he would purposefully deny teenagers even with co-signers & that many others do too. I am not co-signing, the car will be in my name completely & yes I know the risks of this but, if they can’t pay, I have it. A few people mentioned that they should sell their trade & just find a car for 12k but, the problem with that is, it wouldn’t have the premium warranty I want for them (unless u were to pay over 2 grand more for the extended which still may not cover everything & would not last as long as I want it to). Our family is very, very busy & don’t really have the time to take them somewhere should they have to wait for a car to be fixed. With the new cars I’ve selected, all the warranties state that if the car goes in for any repair, a rental is provided free of charge & are full bumper-to-bumper warranties. So, with new information provided i would like some feedback to the question:
For my sisters’ Senior year, I asked that they come up with 5k by the end of summer & they came up with 8k for me to sign for a new car for them. Their trade is worth 4500 & with all that as a down payment, these are the cars they have narrowed it down to: A 2010 VW Tiguan that will cost them like 3 a month but it’s LOADED! Bike rack, heated seats & steering wheel, u name it, plus their oil changes, inspection & emissions would be free for the life of the car. A 2010 Mazda3 grand touring 5 door that will cost them like 6 a month & I know that’s not all-wheel or 4 wheel like I wanted them to have but my fiance has one that’s a couple years older & it goes great in snow so I guess I’m okay with that. There’s a 2010 Dodge Nitro we looked at before that will be 6 a month (actually less cuz we didn’t calculate their trade in when we looked). Another we looked at was a new Subaru WRX-STI that’s all-wheel, loaded & would be about 0/month. There was also a Mercedes 2009 M-Class we found that was a demo for a salesman & only has 15k miles, it’s all-wheel & loaded, even heated seats & steering wheel & I can get 0% financing on it, the payments will be slightly higher (3 a month) but I kinda saw their eyes light up when we looked at that. Plus with the payment split in half & that being the only bill they would have other than car insurance. (Dad pays cell bill) They still want to look at a new Pathfinder cuz they love mine but I think I might get jealous if they had a newer one than me, lol. And of course, they both are REALLY trying to talk me into the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 that would cost 0/month that we test drove just for fun but, now they want it. I know they could afford to split the payment on it & my father & I are covering the first 12 months of insurance. All have full warranties until the loan would be paid off. I’m a lil worried about the Challenger cuz I don’t want them to wreck in the snow. (We live in PA) What do you guys think? Also, today we looked at a new Cadillac SRX, A Nissan Rogue, & a Jeep Compass. The SRX is 1 a month, the Rogue & the compass are both about 9 a month.
My fiance started a new job last year and was told he would have benefits after 90 days. When his 90 days was up, we never received a card for his insurance, but his employer kept promising that he had insurance. Shortly after (my fiance suffers from severe GERD) we had to make a trip to the emergency room with a related problem. We now have a bill for ,000.00 because it turns out the employer was lying and did NOT put my fiance on the insurance list. We took the bill to the employer and they said they would look at it, and possible make a payment plan. That was two weeks ago and they are still stalling. Aren’t they at least partly responsible for this? If we took them to court for the charges, would we win?
I had braces in Middle School that were removed when I was 13 or 14.. Anyway.. Afterwards, my wisdom teeth grew in (around 17/18). Now, I have slightly crooked teeth on the bottom.
(I worry about them and the way they look – very insecure about it. I just told my fiance about three weeks ago how much it effects my self esteem and he just laughed and said my teeth are fine. Even when I got a whitening kit, he laughed at me again.. saying I was worrying about nothing…)
For a long time now, I have made sure I do I mouthwash at least once a day (I travel with my job – and often fall asleep before i realize it since I can work a 13 hour day after a 4 hour plane trip).. Anyway.. I’m scared of flossing.. I do it sometimes, and it feels like my teeth are loose afterwards and most of them bleed.
I’m trying to do better – and I’m looking for decent insurance – I’m just so scared of the long terms effect of this.
Can this be helped if its not gone too far, or have I damaged my dental healthy for life??

My fiance and I are going on our honeymoon to Jamaica in October and we need to get travel insurance. We'll be there from 10/6-10/13. We are flying with United/US Airways, which is part of the reason we want insurance (in the event of a cancelled flight). Mostly we are just looking for something that will protect our trip/costs in the event that something is cancelled or delayed or something (not necessarily travel medical insurance). I've been looking at the various travel insurance sites and comparing plans/prices, but I have no idea what I'm looking for. I know if a price is too much or not, but as far as coverage I want/need/etc. I'm clueless. Help!!!
I’m a Canadian and my fiance is an American. I was wondering if there’s any way I could go down and live with him for a while, and what would be involved. I haven’t ever traveled, so I don’t know much about these kinds of things. Is there a particular type of visa to apply for? Is there a kind of insurance offered for travelers who are making an extended stay in a country?
