Wife stuck in England (Manchester) due to Iceland volcano eruption, HELP!?

Family Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
May 09 2010

Hi everybody, my wife is stuck in England due to the volcano’s eruption and she is panicking right now and she is almost out of money there and I’m here also in the United States. Does anybody knows or have heard a way she can come back easily to the United States? May be by ship? The problem is she did not buy a travel insurance catastrophe or something like that, so that way she will be reimburse by the airline (She was not expecting a catastrophe) Please help me and let me know if you have heard a way Americans are returning to the US. PLEASE! I have been doing research with the American Embassy here and in London and so far the "The Consular Affair News" or at least part are that If you need financial assistance, you should consider contacting family and friends either in the United Kingdom or the United States, to see if they can book a hotel for you or wire funds. For information on wiring funds, see the Embassy’s website for money transfer services through Western Union.
Thank you so very much for any idea, suggestion or advice!

Travel Insurance: Is it important?

Insurance For Trip | Posted by admin
May 08 2010

Going away for 3 days to Eastern Europe from London. My friends are getting insurance (£6.25 for the trip), but I’ve never had it and never have needed it. Should I fall prey to the "what if…" and buy it?

Travel Insurance question. Non UK resident..?

Insurance For Trip | Posted by admin
Mar 10 2010

A friend is over here from the USA for 2 weeks. In the 2 weeks we will be going to Amsterdam from London for a day and the package deal has told me he MUST have travel insurance for that single trip.

Are there any UK agents that will offer a US resident travel insurance? If not, would be be able to contact a US travel insurance company now that he is in the UK to get that insurance for that single trip?

Thank you

Work and Travel?

Family Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Feb 09 2010

I have been working at my family business(insurance) now for about 3 years. My father recently told me that if I wanted I could take over the business when he retires. I was very excited about this. Recently Ive been thinking that if I do take over the business I will be stuck. I wont be able to live in another state or country or do anything else other than what Im doing now. This isnt what I want. I want to be able to live in GA and London and Boston. Do a bunch of different jobs and live in different places. Has anyone done that or is anyone doing that right now. Any tips on a future gypsie? How is your life this way? Is it everything you thought it would be? Age please also.

Surprise holiday for diabetic?

Holiday Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Nov 29 2009

I want to take my boyfriend on holiday on his 18th all the way in next october. Somewhere not too far from London, where we are now, like Paris or Rome for a couple of nights. The problem is, he may need some sort of medical check up and I want to tell him as late as possible so it’s a real, unexpected surprise.

How do I got about getting it booked (What is travel/health insurance etc)? What the latest I can tell him? .. etc

Thanks x

What travel insurance can i get?

Sep 30 2009

I live in Mauritius and I’m flying to london by the end of the month for 6 months. I will also be visiting france while i’m there. I would like to know what travel insurance I can get for my trip. I want to cover luggage n all the usual bits n bobs.
I was looking into an annual one but it only covers 30 to 90 days per trip. I was wondering if u know any travel insurance that’s at the same time cheap and will cover a 6 months period.
Also i was thinking, will it work if I get 2 single trips insurance of 3 months each. Will that work?
To all you gurus of insurance…. Help please

British Travel Insurance While In The States?

Jun 14 2009

Hello,

I will be going to California for 26 days this summer and am currently trying to find a travel insurance to cover my trip. I might go to Mexico for a day or two as well so that should be covered too.

I know that Boots does an insurance but it seems rather expensive. Do you know of any other options? Preferrably I'd like to be able to walk into a store in London and purchase it rather than doing it online.

Thanks.

Does the Barclay’s Additions account cover the costs of air travel tickets?

Holiday Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
May 29 2009

My mother purchased a return ticket to Australia from London for £899. She was due to fly out in February and return in May to visit relatives. Sadly, 2 weeks before she was due to leave for Australia she suddenly died. I informed the agent, Flights Direct, before she was due to depart of what had happened. I asked about a refund of the ticket costs for her estate. The agent say there is no refund on this type of ticket. They have suggested claiming a refund through insurance if she had any.
My mother believed her Barclay’s Additions account covered her. When I asked them they said they only cover holidays of up to 28 days. She did not need holiday cover as such as she was just visiting and staying with relatives. Was she covered for the costs of the flight tickets?

I recently went to London i paid for my return ticket of 99 was set to go for almost 3 weeks had my travel insurance, luggage, packed weeks before hand. The day came when i had to go to the airport it was a fair bit of hours to get to bangkok stopped there 2-3 hours to change planes. Finally were allowed to go down an board the plane to London i went an sat in my seat, we only had 10 hours or so to go we finally landed in London an we had to go to immigration an customs when i got there all went horribly wrong they started asking questions didn't believe my answers treated me like i was some kind of criminal they rang my friend asking him questions it was terrible the way they treated me i was waiting almost 5 hours before a lady came to interview me i was so frustrated an upset i had my friend waiting for me from 6:40am until jus after 12.30pm i was more worried bout him then myself. In the end i only got one day into London. Then off i went back to Australia. Very disappointed!

Medical/Travel Insurance Providers Expatriates?

Comprehensive Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Apr 08 2009

Hi, I will be living and hopefully working in Spain for anything from 6 months to over a year.

I am getting the new E111 card thing and am wondering if I should get some kind of medical insurance on top of it. I don't want travel insurance that will cover baggage etc. And actually I'm not really bothered about insurance and have travelled many times outside of Europe without it… but what happens if my luck is over… (which it seems to be lately)

Well basically, I have been searching for travel insurance initially but I want something alot cheaper than the £65 I found… plus it might be difficult to change the dates since I don't know when I'll be coming back to England.

Is medical insurance generally cheaper than travel insurance? I have applied for a quote from 2 companies but I have to wait until after the weekend for them to call me… which they probably wont.

Is it worth getting extra medical coverage other than the e111 card thing which is free anyway! yay!
I'll only be living over there, and I don't have insurance in my own country and I've been to more countries that are considered "dangerous" than in europe and I actually feel like I'm more likely to be injured etc in England than anywhere else.

The only time I'll come across the british over there is if I spend a few days travelling south to dose up on kebab meat.
but I don't think it'll be possible to buy insurance to travelling to "british areas in spain" …

I think I've answered my own question actually, I wont get insurance!
Does any company offer insurance for day visits to Homerton in london?
