What do you think of the new W. House policy that attempts to claim anyone who disagrees with Obama is lying?

Not only are they posting what one can only describe as amateur hour propaganda, but they are asking private citizens to forward any dissent about healthcare straight to the white house so they can better produce propaganda in the future.

What do you think of this??

Watch both videos here:

Douglass seems to have taken to her role as a propagandist rather well for someone who worked as a supposedly objective reporter for so long. How difficult is it to look through the first 64 seconds of the video Douglass attempts to rebut to find what Obama really had to say about single payer in 2003, while Obama prepared to run for the US Senate?

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

WH uses Web to fight misleading health care effort

WASHINGTON – The White House is turning to the Internet to hit back at a Web posting that claims to show President Barack Obama explaining how his health care reform plans eventually would eliminate private insurance.

The 3-minute White House video features Linda Douglass, a former network television correspondent and now White House Office of Health Reform communications director, sitting in front of a computer screen showing the Drudge Report Web site. That site carries a series of video clips from another blogger who strings together selected Obama statements on health care to make it appear he wants to eliminate the private health insurance business.

In the video Douglass says the site is "taking sentences and phrases out of context, and they’re cobbling them together to leave a very false impression."
bulwinkle……."He was covering actual lies. "

No, he was trying to "re-calibrate" statements he made a few years ago that completely contradict what he is saying now.
truth seeker……"Are you saying there are NO lies out there???"

No. But this particular "lie" they are attempting to combat happens to be true.
assamite………."You’re citing HotAir?!?"

It would appear that way. It contained both videos side by side. Would they be more believable if the same videos came from another website??

Also, thanx for the link. Although there is more than one bill floating around.
assamite…………also, I never claimed to be "smart". But I guess who couldn’t help yourself :)

Health insurance question?

Comprehensive Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Dec 19 2009

I see alot of questions regarding not being able to afford health insurance and that is why a lot of people support nationalizing the health care system.

I wonder if any of them know about Medicaid? If you cannot afford your health insurance, you can get on Medicaid. It is free and widely accepted. Laws vary a little from state to state but if you can prove you can’t afford your health insurance or are not eligible, you will probably qualify and your kids definitely will. Why do we need to nationalize the entire system when there is already help available? There are also the CHIPs (Children’s Health Insurance Programs), and Medicaid covers dental.

Do we really need to nationalize health care? Do you feel the quality of care will suffer? Why or why not? I saw an answer that said even if they do nationalize health care, you can still choose to pay for private insurance. But how long will insurance companies be able to stay in business trying to compete against a free system?
Actually, health care costs for a family are ASTRONOMICAL. We had to have my son on Medicaid when he was a baby because for our family (3 people) it was 5.00 a month. We absolutely could not afford that. We put him on Medicaid.
Betty: I was happy to hear your very-well presented side of this question. Thank you for giving a real answer.

To answer you, I don’t know where you live but here our government funded health care facilities are pretty crappy. I would hate that to be the only choice, you see?

Would more international outsourcing help reduce the 16.6% of GDP the U.S. spends on health care?

People travel to India for surgeries now, and the cost is much cheaper there, even including the airfare. The care is also very good.

This probably is not covered by private insurance and would not be under any of the proposals even if people were forced to buy health insurance. Mandatory health insurance would probably result in people having much more expensive surgeries here, because they had already paid the premiums.

If the federal government looked at international options for Medicare, some of those costs could be brought down. There must be foreign vendors for wheelchairs and other durable medical equipment who would sell at competitive prices and not require monthly contracts and provide reasonably priced maintenance.

Also, why not negotiate with Mexico to set up long care facilities where the cost of labor is cheaper? A percentage of people in our nursing homes do not get any visitors anyway, and this option would allow their money to last longer.

Length of C-SECTION Hospital Stay While on MEDICAID?

Comprehensive Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Aug 13 2009

Is it true that if you are on MEDICAID, that if you are going to have a C-SECTION you should be prepared to leave the following day or within 2 days? I have always been told that it goes by who your insurance provider is that it could be up to 3 days with a private insurance provider. However, if you have MEDICAID it is different. I had a friend who had her daughter (she was on MEDICAID) and she had to leave the hospital the next day, but she is on welfare. Is it true that when you receive MEDICAID you should not be expecting a lengthy stay at the hospital when you are having a baby. Has anyone had a similar experience with having a c-section while on MEDICAID INSURANCE? How long was your stay, and is it indeed true that since it is funded by the government you probably won’t be getting THREE days for a c-section

Do I have enough to go after Primary Custody?

Holiday Travel Insurance | Posted by admin
Jun 29 2009

Do you think we have enough evidence to go for primary custody?

My Husband and I live on the west coast and my stepdaughter who is 5 and her mother live on the east coast. We have joint custody (summers, holidays, sprink break) We pay for all travel expenses to and from the homes.

Over the past two years we have kept a logbook and documented as much as we could to ensure that when the time is right that we would file for Primary custody.

Her mother does not work, does not go to school, and does not provide a dime to her daughters care. She's 26 and lives with her parents in a 2br house – her and her daughter share a bedroom.

She sends all the medical bills to us to take care of even though we also cover her private insurance from across the US. She has even forged my husbands name on the guarantor for the Doctor's office since she refuses to pay the co-payment.

Over 60% of our phone calls go unaswered when we call every tues, thurs, sat & sunday on schedule.

When my stepdaughter comes out for visitation, her clothes smell like urine, smoke and are FILTHY. So bad that the WHITE underwear her mother sent were GRAY and stained. Bleach could not even help. They had to be thrown out and new ones purchased by us. (we kept the clothing)

Each time she comes for visitation we spend over 0 on clothing since her mother does not send proper clothes for the seasons. (evne thought it's written into custody)

All her clothes are innapropriate for a 5 year old. Halter tops, hand be downs…, hot pants, no socks are ever sent and no jacket either.

She has now moved the child's residence 3 times and school 3 times to be with the newest BF she has "fallen in love with". (All in the same year)

Each time she has moved, she has not given us notice – The only person to notify us is the school. ( It's written in the custody that she must give us 30 day notice if she intends on moving.)

We have found out from our daughter herself that each time her mother moves in with her new BF, she is to sleep on the floor or couch of wherever she is at since there is no bed or bedroom for her.

My husband and I own a 3br/2ba home, make a good income, live in a good school district and are planning on starting a family in about a year.

Unfortunately people say that if I don't have that "smoking gun" then the odds of us getting my stepdaughter on a more permanent basis are SLIM.

I don't want to take her away from her mother completely, I would never do that…But I would like to provide a more stable life for her.

Any help or suggestions?
We have talked to our lawyer, unfortunately she is not a very "agressive" person and likes to write alot of "letters" to the mother about her behavior. that's the progress we have made and it's getting tiresome.

We just found out today that she moved schools again because the new relationship did not work out with the BF.
